GH2 is the Grethen House outlet & consignment store. If you're thinking about consigning at gh2 keep the core tenet of "high fashion" in mind. Last year's Gap essentials will be politely declined while a Martin Margiela skirt made of an inside-out potato sack will be warmly embraced. Where it all started
Grethen House is an upscale women's boutique specializing in unique clothing and accessories by cutting edge designers such as Comme des Garcons, Hache, Yigal Azrouel, Gunex, Rozae Nichols and Martin Margiela. Grethen House's customers are those seeking alternatives to the impersonal service and ubiquitous merchandise of department stores. They appreciate the conscientious service and extra attention a small, family-owned boutique provides. Grethen House is a family run business, and was established in Clear Lake, Iowa in 1953 by Greta and Henry Thomas-- the name Grethen House is a combination of their first names. Daughter Mary Brindley took over the store in 1989; her son Tadd is continuing the legacy.
